While visiting the Cape recently we were lured onto the R44 and
into the heart of the winelands where we found ourselves enjoying
a brief encounter with a wine farm or two. Stopping first at
the classic cellars of Muratie wine Estate with a Bottle of Cape Ruby
Port to show it was the perfect start to what evolved to be a splendid
afternoon of indulgence. A wine tasting at Neetlingshof, more
bottles in tow (at those great prices) and then a leisurely cheese
and wine tasting at Zevenwacht, followed by a superb
lunch. It was the perfect example of good wine, good
food and good company ( I was with some of my favourite people!)
They know who they are!
This is just a small taste of what is out there waiting for you
to visit and discover. With wine routes, olive routes, the pinotage
route ( oh yes), the Art route ( absolutely) and children's route
( I love this idea) all forming part of the Ghoema Festival for
2008.
Lets have a look at what is happening in the Cape
in April!
12th Paternoster Festival
17 - 19 ClanWilliam Agricultural Show
17 - 19 Tulbagh goes Dutch Festival
22 Two Oceans Marathon
