The Garden Route has been a hub of activity with the recent Oyster Festival and although we did not indulge ourselves in the delights of Oysters ( we will do that another day)  or gratify the body in the Cycling or Running events (I did not have my  shoes on this year) we did allow the children to use up there unspent energy at Knysna Sports school fun-filled sports day:). 
 
We also indulged them in activities of tradition as we watched the SA Navy boats entering the heads and enjoyed the Navy parade hosted by the towns Mayoress. One could of course not deprive them of the massive kite display, sky divers and carnival fun that was enjoyed a much by the adults amongst us.
 
If you were there, I hope  you enjoyed your stay in this incredibly beautiful part of the world.
 
Driving to Herolds Bay this this last week-end, we took a turnoff which allowed us to stand on the cliffs edge and look at least 200 metres into the depths of the oceans breakers below. We were enchanted with a display from a school of dolphins, they say you only see half of the actual number there and we were lucky enough to enjoy watching at least 50 dancing and diving along the waves. We were not the only onlookers as groups of whales basked playfully nearby.
 
This is just a gentle reminder of why people travel halfway across the world to visit us and enjoy a small taste of what lies a stones throw from our back gardens. Just 150 metres from our house lies the endless beach and ocean and in just a minute we are able to feel the sea breeze and taste the salt. It would be too sad if we forgot that it was there.
 
Good news, that petrol is going down by a few cents, will it be too good to be true if it continues? I prefer to think positively but also believe that we need to find pleasure in these things that do not cost us money. We just need to look around us to find them!
 
Our International clients are visiting South Africa for honeymoons and weddings from all over the world and in the months ahead. We are happy to say that there travels are from the bushveld all the way down the Coast through the Garden Route and into the Cape. We are also planning some fabulous itineraries for our South African clients for weddings and honeymoons in Seychelles and the spice islands of Zanzibar.
